Seeing God

The Invisible God

As a Spirit, God is invisible to the carnal eye. (Dt 29:4, Eze 12:2, Heb 11:1,6,27, 1Jn 4:12, Jn 4:24, 1Co 2:14)

The impurities of a carnal heart obscure God from view. (2Ch 16:9, La 5:16,17, Isa 59:1,2, Mt 5:8, Mt 13:15)

Those who See God Die

Those who see God die to their carnal nature and are reborn spiritually. (Ge 32:28-30, Ex 33:11,17-23, Ro 6:2,6, 2Co 5:17, Gal 2:20, Gal 5:24, 1Pe 2:24

Those who continue in their evil nature do not see God. (1Jn 3:4-6, 3Jn 1:11, Heb 6:4-8)

We see God through the Creation

We see God through the Holy Spirit

We see God through Jesus, His Son

We see Jesus through the Resurrection

The Full Brightness of the Son

No matter how brightly we see God now, it is dim and partial in comparison to the perfect vision we will receive when Jesus returns. (1Co 13:9-12)

The sparkling stars will seem as invisible in the full light of the Sun of Righteousness. (Mal 4:2, Rev 1:10-16, Rev 21:21-24, Rev 22:1-5)

Jesus Counsels the Laodicean Church to Anoint their Eyes

Jesus proclaims that the Laodicean Church is blind and counsels its members to anoint their eyes. (Rev 3:14-18)
